Mountain Plains Community Development Corporation

We work alongside Native Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) to support the growth and development of the Native CDFI ecosystem, ultimately increasing economic mobility in Native communities.

What We Are All About

The Native CDFI industry is comprised of approximately 70 mostly small and young nonprofit organizations that typically serve rural and remote reservation communities. Due to a historic lack of investment in Native communities, many Native CDFIs struggle to access adequate levels of capital to meet the demand for their products and services within their respective communities.

As a supportive partner to Native CDFIs, the Mountain Plains Community Development Corporation catalyzes growth within and fortifies a solid future of the Native mission-driven finance industry. By accessing new and different networks, synthesizing funding resources, and briging fresh resources to the table, we intentionally invest in programming that strengthens Native economies.

What Is A Native CDFI?

Native Community Development Financial Institutions (NCDFIs) are mission-driven financial organizations created to serve Native communities. They go beyond traditional lending by offering culturally grounded financial services, education, and support. Native CDFIs are helping transform the economic landscape by creating systems-level change, expanding access to affordable capital, fostering entrepreneurship, and ultimately redirecting wealth and opportunity back into their communities where it belongs.
